New hourly wage rates from 1 July 2024 now available

Industrial relations

Annual increases to award and minimum wages under both the national and WA industrial relations systems apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2024. The new hourly rates for both systems are now available.

In WA, the national system only covers private sector employers that are constitutional corporations - for example, Pty Ltd companies, incorporated partnerships and incorporated trusts. The state system covers businesses such as sole traders and unincorporated partnerships.

Rates of pay in WA awards have increased by 4%, with rates of pay for some WA award adult employees 21 years and older increasing by more than 4% to align with the new state minimum wage of $918.60.
