Since our establishment in 1901, The Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association of Western Australia has been dedicated to advancing the plumbing and gasfitting industry. Our policy agenda reflects our commitment to public health and the prosperity of our members.
Advocating for Industry Reform
Our policies address crucial areas that impact our members and the wider community, including:
- Security of Payment: Advocating for legislation that mandates trust accounts for progress payments, ensuring fairness and financial stability for subcontractors.
- Plumbing in Old Residential Buildings: Pushing for policies that incentivise proper maintenance and upgrades, safeguarding property values and public health.
- Workplace Health and Safety: Working towards an industry where workplace-related injuries or illnesses are eliminated, emphasising education and compliance.
- Workplace Relations: Seeking a balanced approach that allows for flexible, mutually beneficial agreements between employers and employees.
- Small Business Support: Proposing measures to alleviate administrative and financial burdens on small businesses, which form the backbone of our industry.
