Our free employee relations workshop for members is coming to Bunbury

Association news

There was so much interest in our free 'Managing the Employment Lifecycle' workshop that we are running it again on Tuesday 15 October 2024. This time it will be in Bunbury, prior to the free Plumbing Industry Trade Day.

The aim of the workshop is to educate employers about issues that can arise at any time from the offer of employment through to termination, and how to manage them. Participants will learn how to

  1. Recognise when an offer of employment is made and when it can be withdrawn
  2. Recognise how awards interact with the contract of employment
  3. Identify the risks of pre-employment assessments (medical and police clearances) and how to use them appropriately
  4. Identify the dangers of incorporating policies and procedures into the employment contract
  5. Effectively manage the legal risks associated with managing poor performance, misconduct and disciplinary issues
  6. Terminate an employee's employment and minimise the related legal risks

The facilitator is a professional legal trainer with extensive 'real world' experience in industrial relations and employment law, so this is an opportunity to hear from one of the best in the field.

While the workshop is for members, the Plumbing Industry Trade Day that follows is open to everyone. Both events are free, but separate registration for both is essential.
