WA Government offers apprentices $2000 to complete training

Training and education

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) has announced a $4.2 million scheme that aims to encourage apprenticeship completion in the construction industry.

The scheme is a pilot program that will commence on 1 July 2023 and run for 12 months.

It offers a one-off $2000 payment called the Apprentice Completion Grant (ACG) plus $500 in reimbursements for tools and safety equipment. Construction apprentices and trainees who complete their qualification between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024 will be eligible for both incentives.

The $500 reimbursement is separate to the existing Apprentice Tool Allowance.

Eligible apprentices who want to receive the ACG must confirm their bank details with the CTF, which will have their completion date from Department of Training and Workforce Development.

Apprentices who want to claim their $500 for tools and safety equipment must do so via the CTF website. Multiple claims can be submitted and the CTF will reimburse a maximum of $500 for expenses incurred between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.
