You could help save lives by doing this quick survey

Work Health and Safety

If you are 18 or more years old and have any type of job in the building and construction industry, you can be part of an important project that's the first of it's kind in Australia.

MATES in Construction WA and the University of Western Australia (UWA) have joined forces to conduct research into mental health in the industry.

The industry has a high suicide rate and the aim of the research is to help organisations like MATES bring it down.

The research involves an online survey. To ensure the survey produces quality data, MATES and UWA need 10,000 participants from across the industry in WA, so why not be one of them? Here's what you need to know.

  • The survey is confidential
  • You can do it on your phone or computer
  • It will take you about five minutes
  • You get a chance to win a $100 Bunnings gift voucher

To do the survey, either go to this page on the MATES website or scan the QR code below.

MATES and UWA are doing the industry a valuable service, so please assist them by forwarding everyone you know a link to this news item. You can also download and print these research flyers.

MATES in Construction WA serves the construction sector through suicide prevention training and support on-site and within workplaces, and through the free 24/7 MATES Helpline. If you or a mate need some support, please call the Helpline on 1300 642 111. It is a free and completely confidential service.
